Cyber Security Analyst position in Chicago, IL PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The position is a security based role that performs risk assessment review of Firewall rules and executes vulnerability assessments based on a pre-defined schedule.
A successful candidate with need take direction from the Cyber Vulnerability program manager to perform activities relating to Security vulnerability assessment, planning, executing, report generation and remediation support.
This position will require supporting firewall risk review rotation to perform firewall risk assessments providing support to requesting group on high risk firewall request.
This position will be located at the Chicago Chase location.
Responsibilities:
1.
Perform, manage and appropriately document work activities relating to Security vulnerability assessments, projects, sub-projects, or processes.
a.
For projects:
plan, manage and deliver on Security related initiatives.
b.
For Security Vulnerability Management Program:
Assist in planning, developing statements of work and supporting execution of vulnerability assessment.
Assist with maintaining current schedule of vulnerability assessments.
2.
Post Vulnerability Assessment deliverables include assist with recording and tracking of vulnerability findings.
a.
Host finding review sessions with support teams, gain concurrence of agreed upon remediation actions, identify remediation owners and finalize remediation deliverable dates.
b.
Document findings, and generate monthly metrics reflecting the current Vulnerability program and remediation status.
3.
Assist with customization of vulnerability scanning platform metrics and dashboards for Senior Executive review identifying immediate progress of the Vulnerability Assessment Management Program.
4.
Independently perform application vulnerability assessment reviews aligning with OWASP guidelines and security best practices for application development.
5.
Assist with threat management through review, identifying risk, applicability and remediation efforts.
6.
Participate in firewall rule review and risk identification.
Provide support for firewall rule assessment, technical support for reducing risk and attend weekly review sessions.
7.
Participate and support security process review and revisions as required POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or related discipline or equivalent knowledge.
- Experience in vulnerability assessment and use of common security tools.
- Appropriate technical skills, such as Security Concepts Networking, Servers and environments; Desktop operating systems, applications and environments, Active Directory, Web and cloud applications and environments, Database systems, applications, tools and environments,.
- Strong knowledge of business practices and processes services.
- Experience leading IT or Security projects with sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management.
- Strong problem solving and analysis ability.
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) - Ability to work with remote project teams - May require limited travel POSITION SCOPE - Utilizes understanding of security vulnerability requirement needs to assist with developing security assessments.
